It is FREEZING!!! I am so ready for the snow and cold to stop, and it's only January....it's going to be a long winter.
Tonight was our annual staff and board Christmas Party. Yes we have our Christmas Party in January. When you work in ministry life tends to be one big blur from the months of October through December. Throw on top of all the events, outreaches, and regular programs, the routine holiday parties between friends and family and there just doesn't seem to be enough time to fit it all in.
That combined with our desire to have everyone attend, we switched it to January a few years back.
The evening got started late due to the NFL play-offs. We enjoyed a big family style meal and then the highlight of the evening, Dirty Santa. This year wasn't as fun or cut-throat as years past, but it still made for a good time. I ended up with this interesting bird bath/feeder/planter thing. To be quite honest none of us could really figure out what it is. I'll either be re-gifting it to my G-ma or donating it.
All in all, it's been a great day. I've enjoyed all the mellow time I've had lately, it's been good to rest up before going back into working with children 3+ nights a week.
